Unlock and protect the full potential of your assets
With over 100 years of experience in managing critical infrastructure, we are committed to helping our clients operate efficient, safe and sustainable assets and infrastructure that people can be proud of. And we understand just how challenging it is, especially in the face of cost constraints and climate change.
We manage 30,000 km of roads, look after the rail routes used by the UK’s largest rail operators to transport millions of travellers each day and we maintain complex facilities critical to supporting thriving communities.
We have a strong track record of renewing and enhancing the UK’s rail network, recently electrifying the railway on the Transpennine Route Upgrade and Core Valley Lines in Wales. Our teams are well-placed to advise on how the industry can continue to adapt and deliver electrification at greater pace, with innovative solutions designed around the UK’s historic railways and the challenges this can pose.
Having designed the ‘UK’s first’ carbon neutral road improvement project – an £8m National Highways carriageway reconstruction in Cumbria, we reduced carbon by up to 43% compared to traditional solutions and saved almost £3m.
Our innovative lighting approach delivers cost savings to clients, while significantly reducing emissions and waste. Upgrading and maintaining over 600,000 street lights makes us a leading provider across the UK.
Managing and maintaining approximately four million square metres of public and private buildings and working with major organisations across the UK, our comprehensive asset management solutions ensure that public buildings are optimally utilised, extending their lifespan and improving their performance.
Using intelligent insight to help you stay ahead in the face of climate change and energy transition, we integrate operational and analytical expertise, to ensure your assets last longer, work smarter and do more for the planet.
Our world-leading data-science capabilities are transforming our roads, rail networks and public estates for tomorrow.
Working on behalf of National Highways, Transport Scotland, the Department for Infrastructure (NI) and numerous local authorities, we keep 30,000 km of road moving safely and local communities connected to vital services all year round.
Our core services include cyclical and reactive maintenance, street lighting and winter maintenance services.
We also regularly inspect, assess and make decisions on our highways' future upkeep aligned with our whole-life asset management approach. This means you can maximise road capacity, reduce environmental impacts and strengthen your infrastructure for a more sustainable future.
As one of the largest multi-disciplinary rail organisations in the UK, we integrate our in-house engineering and data capabilities to add value to your operational and maintenance services.
We’re proud to be one of the country’s leading track maintenance and renewal specialists, delivering everything from rerailing, entire reconstruction and the recommissioning of disused routes to conversions, track upgrading, new route construction and turnkey renewal works.
