Empowering your journey to Net Zero
With the climate emergency becoming more urgent by the day, we’re working with clients, communities, and industry partners to tackle it together.
Our changing climate creates unprecedented challenges for asset owners and operators of critical infrastructure, but it also creates opportunities for positive change. From Net Zero roadmaps to climate-resilient design, we’re here to help you shift to a more efficient, low-carbon future.
Some of the areas we can work with you on include:
- Net Zero strategies and roadmaps for your buildings, estate, and infrastructure projects
- End-to-end climate-resilient, low-carbon design, build and operations of new infrastructure
- Data strategies to generate actionable insights, drive decisions and integrate decarbonisation plans
- Whole life carbon assessments and effective management aligned with PAS 2080
- Novel nature-based solutions to lower carbon emissions, improve biodiversity and create new community spaces
We can also work with you to innovate and co-create new solutions using our technical expertise and deep understanding of your sector.
Whether it’s strategies to reduce vehicle emissions, use recycled materials, or sensitively restoring natural environments, we can help you on your journey to net zero.
We recently designed the ‘UK’s first’ carbon neutral road improvement project – an £8m National Highways carriageway reconstruction in Cumbria, reducing carbon by up to 43% compared to traditional solutions and saving almost £3m.
In our partnership with Staffordshire County Council, we recovered and recycled aggregate material for future highway maintenance, saving money and carbon emissions.
Our aim is to help our clients deliver rail services with lower emissions using cutting-edge technology and approaches.
As specialists in electrical power, most recently developed for the Transpennine Route Upgrade and Core Valley Lines in Wales, we can advise you on how to deliver cost effective electrification at pace.
Our carbon solutions are designed around the needs and challenges of the UK’s historic railways. In the case of the Core Valley Lines, using discontinuous electrification solution removed the need to demolish existing structures, saving tonnes of carbon and reducing the impact on the local environment.
In managing rail assets, we use our data and analytical capabilities to integrate carbon reduction plans across the full lifecycle - contributing to more sustainable travel and reduced emissions.
With targets for Net Zero, you’re under pressure to reduce emissions across your entire estate.
You’ve been able to rely on us for sustainable solutions for decades, and now we’ve developed industry-leading capabilities in reducing carbon footprints across a wide range of environments
Our ISO50001 and PAS 2060 based processes and analytics help to create a detailed roadmap to guide you on your journey to Net Zero Carbon.
Our decarbonisation strategies include retrofitting and upgrading buildings to improve energy efficiency, implementing renewable energy systems, and promoting sustainable building practices to minimise environmental impact and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. For example, we’ve recently developed carbon-neutral state-of-the-art facilities for the Ministry of Defence.
