Amey has secured a major contract with Roscommon County Council, its first in the Irish market, following its appointment to the joint Local Authorities and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) 372 Technical Consultancy Services framework.

The new contract covers the provision of technical consultancy services under Lot 1a for schemes with an estimated construction value of up to €5m. This includes work on regional and national roads, greenways, rural cycleway projects, and public transport projects funded by TII. Amey will work with Roscommon to design improvements to an important section of the N61 to improve both road safety and road user experience.

As part of the contract, Amey will deliver technical services including project management, transport planning, design and consultancy, public liaison, quantity surveying, as well as structural, geotechnical, and environmental works.

This new contract announcement is further recognition of Amey’s sector-leading technical consultancy services expertise and its multi-disciplinary capability, including its strong delivery in urban renewal schemes, greenways, rural cycleway projects, and minor improvement schemes. The company will also bring a wealth of experience from delivering numerous road improvement projects across the UK and specifically for the Department of Infrastructure, Northern Ireland, continuously for almost 20 years.

The news also follows a successful period of framework appointments and contract wins for Amey, with the company also recently announcing its successful appointment to the Pagabo Professional Services Framework to help drive sustainability in the public sector.

Alex Gilbert, Managing Director for Amey, said: “We’re thrilled to have secured this contract award with Roscommon County Council through the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) 372 Technical Consultancy Services Framework. Expanding into Ireland is a significant milestone for Amey, and we’re proud that TII has entrusted us to help deliver the market-leading transport infrastructure services we are known for.

“This contract win is also testament to the importance of framework agreements in fostering stronger public and private sector partnerships. We look forward to continue leveraging our expertise in driving innovation and efficiency in highly complex and critical infrastructure projects.”
